Funds for this festival came from there sponsors (barclays) and from Kiss radio, witch they should make most of the money back by the end of the festival from ticket money and drinks and foods brought on the site.
The festivals artistic policy is all about the music and dancing there is also a feel of social gathering bringing loads of people to the same place to dance and listen to there favorite musicians and bands.

group change

We have all moved around groups now to change what we are researching. And now me and Liam have moved to group five were we will be researching about Tv in cambridge and interactive media.

Queen and two Jacks Review

Reviews

The penultimate band to take to the stage brought with them an unrivalled anticipation that has remained absent from the competition thus far. The youngest band to take to the stage, 'Queen and Two Jacks’ proved they could hold a stage just as successfully as their peers, and that they are more than just a clever name; a fact only broadened by the legions of adoring fans that arrived specifically for this band's performance. Commencing the set with relevant apprehension, the trio were immediately overwhelmed with an eruption of approval, no doubt evocative of previous performances in the area. This pop induced frenzy in turn encouraged the arrival of the competition's first crowd surf; a sight to behold in a venue plagued by size restrictions and an ever increasing audience. The pop trio create a musical landscape that relentlessly shifts from choppy to driving guitars and a technically ambitious keyboard, while the simple rhythm section aspires to keep the band in time.

Scene Progress Report

So fare the scene project i have written a article about a non local and a local band, we have also been to the junction and done practice job interviews. I still need to interview my chosen band also write up a review on something in or around cambridge, we have Creative & Media industry this helped me to understand were the creative & media diploma could get me later in life. I found information for the singers/bands on the internet looking at were they are performing and reading what the host has written about them. I think so fare in the scene course it has been pretty interesting also it has helped me to know what i can do better when i go to a interview. I think i could improve my work by making sure i finish my work on time and keep track of were I'm at an making sure in up to date with all my work, next in the scene unit i am planning to get a interview with a local band, also write a review about something around cambridge.

Friday 12 March 2010

11/03/2010 junction

At the junction we was planning our interviews and practicing for real life interviews, there was several options of jobs that we could apply for. we got a peace of paper which told us about the position and there expectancies they are looking for. After we looked at these we had to fill in a quick c.v that our interviewers would be looking at. Once we done the cv's we all split up to do our interview, after the interviews we all sat down and asked the interviewers are questions and they told us how we done.

My 3 questions for junction

1) what is the atmosphere like in this business?

2)Were did you start?

3) What qualifications do you need?

Page 1: multiple pictures of around cambridge with the name of the newspaper in bold letters.

Pages 2 & 3: unknown.

Pages 4 & 5: monthly updates on what is happening in cambridge that month.

Pages 6 & 7: spread over both of these pages will be a map of cambridge.

Pages 8 & 9: The new things and shops that are coming to cambridge.

Pages 10 &11: tokens and tickets pages

Tinchy Stryder is the biggest selling UK male artist of the year.  With two number 1 singles, a certified gold album, a much-in-demand clothing line and a sold out headline tour under his belt, it is no surprise that he has been described as 'Britain's hottest new rapper' (Guardian) who 'has been instrumental in turning British Urban music from a minority interest into a commercially successful mainstream scene' (The Times).

Monday 18 January 2010

Acro Iris Samba

Acro Lris Samba

This band is well formed, all with matching tops so that the public also the group knows who is with what. the places the band members are persitioned are also arranged in order having the small an light instruments at the fron of the band, and the larger instruments at the back. This tells thr audience that they are every organised and know what they are doing. they also have a leader which stands at the front of the band directing then on what to do next and also who should stop & start. The movment of there feet are a very important piece in the band but is over look most of the time, but this is to help the band members to keep there rythem through out the soung. They also have a very troditional beat to there music unlike most bands theys days adding bits of D&B or funky and dubstep in there music.

Thudbox - Bal A

The Thudbox Bal A are also a samba band but this band have more of a moden feel to there music with bits of funky and dubstep in there beat unlike the Acro Lris Samba bands tunes was more of the original sounds of samba. This band dosnt seem to have a costume so would be hard for the public to identify the band, both bands seem well organised an know what they are doing but, i think that this band would catch the eyes of most youths and get the younger gerneration of people to listen to them proform.

Friday 15 January 2010

SAMBA BAND!

the reason i chose this video was because i like the way they perform there music and its lively.
they work together very well as a team and stay in sync with each other also you can tell they are a well know and professional band.
there costumes are all made for each other also thy match so people watching knows who is in the group but there not wearing any traditional samba clothing.
this performance is held in a public park were many families go.
comparing this band to are band at the junction they are a lot better then us but with practice we could become very good.

My blog feedback

Over the last 4 weeks we have been developing our campaign's we have done alot to advertise them also alot of research. we created logos for are campaign which you can see below, we also reasontly created posters for the campaign to help people notice are campaign and help support my course, we also went around the college and set up interviews with pupils.

We also go to junction every thuresday where we learn how to propare for a event also how to get people to notice your even and attend it theres are a lot of different things that would help me to lounch my own even. We are quickly coming to the end of this unit and will shortly be starting our final report for this unit where we reflect on all the things we have done in detail and exsplain to goods and bads about are campaigns.

Reasearch into the subject of my campaign

The juction fiver is know to alot of people in and around cambridge, and is very simular to my campaign that im creating. Personaly i dont have that much of a problem with it and what they play there, its a fun and social even also helps youths to go here on fridays night insted of beening out on the streets were anything can happen to then, but the thing is that it only supports a serton group of people were im campaign supports all social groups we would help up coming sings and musicions, bands, MC's ect... involved so everyone can enjoy the sounds of all types of music.

The would also attract alot more people to come to the evens and keep alot more people entertained. The campaign is aimed at people aged between 16-19 and these are the type of people we want supporting my campaign so we know that we are doing the right thing and doin what they want, i also think the city council would also incurage this campaign as it helps young people of the streets an will stop them from doing other things like getting drunk, getting into fights and drugs also alot of other things.

This campaign will also have people opposing it as there is with all campaigns but i think with a though points i could win them over. There are many ways i would convince them such as, it would get the younger of the streets at night also they will be in a safe and controlled enviroment, they will be safe out side the event as there will be security also police supervising the event to make sure everything gos as it should.

my chosen potition

The reason i joined an signed up to this potition because they are right in what they are saying if cannabis was ligal it would be alot safer and wouldnt be as much of a problem as it is now as long as its controlled and handled well. because these day cannabis is one of the least harmfull drugs out there, even safer then most of the leagal goverment controlled drugs that you can pick up in your local high street shop for a sum of around 20 yo 30 pounds an these so called legal drugs can harm the well being other others and your self alot more then what cannabis dose.

Thursday 10 December 2009

Tom woodcock is the secretary of Cambridge & District trade union council, and recently came in the our media lesson to talk to us about how he got involved in  a lot of campaign's in and around cambridgeshire. He recently was involved in a campaign, to get postmen/women to stop them from cutting there jobs and keeping the post office a public business and to stop it from belonging to the government and making them work harder without no extra pay rise They also want to revolutionize the post office so they will not need people to do poticuler jobs an have machines doing the jobs instead which will end up with thousands of works around the country loosing there jobs.
My ideas on this campaign are in agreement with this an i think they are doing the right thing, the government shouldn't be able to take control of a public business especially if they are making the workers work even harder for no extra wages. Also a lot of postmen/women well lose there jobs an will be unemployed.

                                                                                                           practice design

                                   FINAL DESIGN

We have just finished are final logo witch i think was a successes. i was very happy the way my design turned out after printing it as it was pretty much what i was expecting, This logo was my own design which i created my self on Photoshop.

If i could change something about my logo it would be the stencil and the way i printed it because if i used a bit more care doing my logo it could have turned out more tidy.

my ideas an designs have developed a lot since i designed my practice logo they have got a lot of new ideas, my final logo hasn't changed much from my practice logo but i think i changed the the right bits of the logo to get what i wanted and for it to fit with my campaign.

Sunday 15 November 2009

A. What did you learn about this technique?

I havent learn anything new from these stenciles because i also done a lot of stencils when i was in secondary school.

B. What are you most pleased about the skills you have demonstrated?

The way my stencil came out after spraying it on to card, As i thought it wouldnt turn out as good as it did.

C. What would you change if you could do this part again?

If i could change something about my first stencil i would have spent a little more time on getting the finishing touches that would have helped it to look better after getting sprayed.

This video is all about Primark and how they sell there clothes so cheap, and how people go crazy
when ever they open new Primark store. in this video they don't just have one person that talks
about the store they interview people that shop in Primark and ask there opinion on what they think of Primark
i think this is a better way to get the massage that they are looking for as the public can associate to there thoughts.

MY THREE CAMPAIGN IDEAS

the first campaign idea hast to be something that would improve my life:

i think a campaign for cambridgeshire to have oyster cards would help me alot to get around cambridge as i go diffrent places around cambridgeshire a lot.

the second campaign idea had to be somthing that would improve other peoples lifes:

my campaign idea for this was help local an unknown singers and bands have a chance to make there band or songs big for everyone to listen too. i think this would help so many raper, singers, bands to get them srlfs of the starting point an get there music herd.

the third and final campaign idea had to make someone smile:

my campaign for this is text a friend this campaign encourage your friends family to just send one text a day could be more, to someone in your phonebook just to make them smile.

my practice logo

This is my practice logo for my T-shirt the reason that i chose this because it could suit a lot of people  also there would be different colors.

Wednesday 4 November 2009

Banksy is a quasi-anonymous English graffiti artist. He is believed to be a native of YateSouth Gloucestershire, near Bristol and to have been born in 1974, but there is substantial public uncertainty about his identity and personal and biographical details. he has done many bits of graffiti all over england also he has do some of his working africa an asia.

I liked the stereo typical massage behind the image and how he has only colored the mane features of the picture.

Monday 2 November 2009

Jon the condom hitchhiking to Africa from Battlefronters on Vimeo.

I picked this video because its funny but also gets the massage that its campaigning for across.
Also there was no actors in the video they used a prop (the condom) acting as a person telling us about the campaign, i thought that making the video funny helps the viewer understand but also to keep the viewers attention.

Thursday 22 October 2009

My question for the class was "HAVE CHEAPER DRIVING LESSON" i think this question appealed to everyone learning to drive or think of starting soon. I chose this question because a lot of people can afford to drive but need to to get to places.

T-Shirt Research

I like this T-shirt because it's eye catching the colors go very well together.
Its very stylish an up to date, will go with a lot of different clothes. This t-shirt could relate to the younger generation of people.
This T-shirt would cost you £15 and it would cost £4 for standard delivery i think this is a great price for a original T-shirt.

The Reason i chose this T-shirt was because it was also very stylish and is very colorful an creative. This T-shirt might not suit a lot of clothes but it will look good by its self maybe if you was going out some were casual. they also used some water colors on the T-shirt, makes it look original because you don't see this type of style on other T-shirts.

T-shirt review

THE HISTORY OF THE T-SHIRT

At the beginning of the twentieth century, the T-Shirt quickly became an American favorite. Now, a century later, at the beginning of the twenty-first century, the T-Shirt remains as popular as ever.

The American T-Shirt began during WWI when American troops noticed European soldiers wearing a comfortable and lightweight cotton undershirt during the hot and humid European summer days. Compared to the wool uniforms that the American soldiers wore, these undershirts were cooler and more comfortable and they quickly caught on with the Americans. Due to their simple design, these shirts became known in the USA as "T" shirts or, as we know them now, "T-Shirts".

By the 1920's, "T-Shirt" had become an official word in the American English language with it's inclusion in Merriam-Webster's Dictionary. By W.W. II, both the Navy and the Army had included the T-Shirt as standard issue underwear.
